With an experienced background in the retail and leisure industry and a passion to be forever successful, Paula Farmer is the perfect fit as the new Sales Manager at Carden Park.
We asked her some questions on what life is like in her line of work…
Hi Paula. Can you tell me briefly about your professional experience?
“I’ve worked in Nottinghamshire for 11 years as a Sales Manager working with an operational team, driving sales as well as understanding and building guest relationships. Personally, I’ve always understood what makes a good sale. It’s confidence in your product and promoting it to the right crowd. It’s about building trust, networking, having a positive attitude and establishing good relations with staff and customers. Carden Park is actually the ideal fit for me as it’s such an excellent product to sell.”
So why the move to Carden Park after all this time?
“As soon as I came up the drive, I fell in love. It’s such a beautiful hotel! The facilities onsite are great too. Everything is just positive and there’s been lots of investment which means it is continuously changing for the better. I mean, who wouldn’t want to be in a position to sell the dream?”
What is your favourite thing so far about Carden Park?
“Aside from the route up to the front of the hotel, I enjoy working in a place with such fantastic grounds. They really are stunning! Also, the team have made me settle in so soon after arriving. Everything you’ve heard about them being enthusiastic, committed and driven is all true!”
What does the role of Sales Manager here entail?
“At the moment, I’m building up accounts and working in a business development role, exploring exciting, new opportunities and avenues. There are so many reasons why people should come and stay at Carden and use the award winning facilities. It’s my job to make people aware that we are here and to offer them the perfect Cheshire experience.”
What else can you tell us about Paula Farmer?
“I like to combine my work duties with my family life. I’ve been happily married for 34 years now with 3 grown up children who have all left home now on successful ventures. Also, I own 5 sheep and 10 chickens, so what can you say apart from that I’m a farmer by name, farmer by nature.”
