As we approach the day when love will be filling the air, it presents a perfect opportunity to explore our favourite couple on display in The Sculpture Garden. Our artist feature for this month is ‘Together’ by Laura Jane Wylder. Passion and creativity are well known to walk hand-in-hand and this piece of art is no exception…
Laura Jane Wylder is a contemporary sculptor who specialises in figurative bronze and stone pieces. Drawing from a personal interest for dance and ballet, her sculptures focus on capturing elegant movement. Hoping to present the observer with a sense of peace while being encapsulated by the moment. Her work is versatile in both a classic and modern setting. A point emphasised by her tag line “beautiful sculptures for beautiful spaces”.
Wylder has a studio based in the Oxfordshire countryside where she shares her creative love with her husband and business partner, Sebastian. Both are highly skilled in the sculpting field.
We are lucky to exhibit one of Wylder’s larger works in The Sculpture Garden at Carden Park Hotel; Together. The lifesize feature is 150 cm tall and despite demanding the eye’s attention, it’s gentle and thoughtful in its style.
The romantic couple gaze empathetically over their current Cheshire surroundings. Their soft features represent humanity in the most beautifully delicate way. The bronze pair aims to symbolise the natural empathy shared between people. Together is a perfect display of Laura Jane’s style, appealing to a broad range of artistic tastes.
This particular sculpture is made in foundry bronze and rests on a steel bench-like base. Most notably Wylder uses an antique green patina to add interest to her artwork. The piece is a limited edition of nine and is available to view at your leisure at Carden Park.
