Carden Park is a fantastic golfing venue, offering two championship golf courses, outstanding practice facilities and top-tier hospitality. But perhaps its greatest strength is something less tangible – the warm, welcoming and thriving community of its golf members.

A Golf Club That Feels Like Home

When I joined in early 2021, I initially wondered if the club might feel a little corporate, perhaps lacking the strong sense of golfing camaraderie found at more traditional members’ clubs. How wrong I was! From day one, I was struck by the friendliness of the members and the sheer variety of well-structured competitions available throughout the year.

The club is expertly led by our Men’s and Ladies’ Captains and their committees, ensuring a packed calendar of events. Whether it’s the weekly stableford and medal competitions, the more prestigious board competitions or our inter-club matches. There’s always something to play for. Off the golf course, the social side is equally lively, with fantastic events, live music and entertainment for both golfers and non-playing partners to enjoy.

A Thriving Seniors’ Golf Section

As a ‘young at heart’ senior, I’ve been delighted to see such an active and welcoming seniors’ section. With a full itinerary of senior trophies, twice-weekly roll-ups and 14 inter-club matches. There’s more golf than you can shake a 7-iron at! But beyond the golf, it’s the camaraderie that stands out. The roll-ups mix playing groups each week, so you’ll soon get to know everyone – though, at our age, remembering all the names is another matter entirely!

World-Class Golf Coaching and Facilities

Another standout feature of Carden Park is the exceptional golf coaching available. Our team of highly skilled PGA professionals run a fantastic teaching academy, catering to all levels – from complete beginners to low-handicap players looking to fine-tune their game. Whether you’re after one-on-one coaching, group clinics or structured game improvement plans, the expertise on offer is second to none.

For practice, members benefit from the state-of-the-art TrackMan driving range, allowing players to dial in distances, track ball flight data and even play virtual courses. Whether you’re warming up for a round, grinding on your swing mechanics or just having fun testing your skills, it’s an invaluable resource.

Investment in the Future

One of the things that sets Carden Park apart is the continuous investment in the courses and facilities. While many clubs have scaled back or delayed improvements, our management team, led by Hamish, has pressed forward. The Cheshire Golf Course has seen a full bunker refurbishment, enhanced irrigation and drainage and even simple but thoughtful touches like trolley and boot washes to make life easier for members. It’s exciting to hear about the ambitious plans for both courses in the months ahead.

If competition golf isn’t for you, don’t worry – Carden Park has plenty to offer. With the latest booking technology, securing a social tee time is quick and easy. And because Carden Park isn’t listed on third-party booking apps, members can always find space to get their golf fix without battling for slots.
