Our very own David Llewellyn, Executive Head Professional, has received one of the highest honours in the golf industry – being appointed the 86th Captain of The PGA.
David has dedicated his life to golf and has built an enormous amount of respect for all that he has done for the sport. It was no surprise to us at Carden Park when The PGA asked to bestow this prestigious title upon him.

In a career spanning more than 5 decades, David has enjoyed huge success with multiple victories including a World Cup win for Wales in 1987. During his touring life, the glorious game took him all around the UK, Europe and even to Africa. His accolades also include wins from Ivory Coast Open, the Zambia open and the Biarritz Open.
Returning to club life, David now coaches professional players as well as mentoring our own PGA professionals. In 2020, David came home to our Cheshire golf resort after 18 years to serve as Executive Head Professional. He now looks after our golf members, visitors and raises the profile of our PGA Academy.
Those who know David will know he’s stayed as humble as ever. For everyone who’s worked with him, learned from him or even been inspired by his passion for golf, this Captaincy feels incredibly well deserved. David has spent a lifetime giving back to the game and now he has the opportunity to represent the profession at the highest level.
