Weddings at Carden Park have always been magical. Being nestled in 1,000 acres of Cheshire countryside with two championship golf courses, relaxing spa facilities, an AA Rosette awarded restaurant and a selection of stunning venue areas, it really is no great surprise why.
On 13th August, we were preparing for an extra special occasion at Carden Park: the wedding of Sophie Cannons, #teamcarden’s Senior Event Sales Executive, and her fiancee Matt.
With months of careful planning from them both as well as regular conversations with our designated wedding coordinator, the big day soon arrived and what a fantastic occasion it was.
“It was the best day ever! Everything went so well and #teamcarden were amazing! The weather held out for us and our 75 guests loved the views from the front lawn where Matt and I got married under the wedding gazebo.”
There have been some weird and wonderful themed weddings at Carden over the years and Sophie appreciated the help of #teamcarden for her special request.
“It was quite out there but it was something we definitely wanted to do. Our theme was a Lego, Batman and Marvel combination and it couldn’t have been any better. Matt also got his wish of being in a Batmobile! We also had a ‘Pimp My Prosecco’ fruit cordial drinks reception on the front lawn with activities from the Events Station for everyone to enjoy like football darts and then later on in the evening, we had a sweets table and an ice cream cart.”
A key part of a wedding are the photographs and once again, Sophie and Matt had all this planned well in advance.
“We used Keyhole Photos and they were fantastic. They took us to spots I didn’t even know existed at Carden. My favourites were on the 18th tee on The Cheshire Course in which we got a personal buggy ride from the concierge, the bridge and by the lake which looked especially amazing. We were completely blown away.”
And what about the food on the day? Did that compare with the rest of the spectacle?
“The food was delicious. But what do you expect from an award winning restaurant? We ate in The Shooting Lodge and it was three courses of complete indulgence. We had confit of duck, a beef roast dinner and a trio of desserts and everybody seemed to love it. It certainly gave Matt lots of energy for his speech!”
The evening soiree arrived and numbers soon increased to 100 as the late night guests started to come in their droves.
“It was great seeing everyone had such a good time. It really made my night. The music and venue were just more than we could have asked for. Matt appreciated it so much that he even an unplanned dance off with his family. It really was the best day of our lives”.

Oh, what a night 🍴🥂🧑🍳Last week`s Supper Club in The Vines was a truly spectacular evening. It was an honour to welcome Guy de Rivoire from Champagne Bollinger, who shared his in-depth knowledge of their incredible wines and how each glass was perfectly paired with the menu.
